Tommy Lynn Sells

Drifter Tommy Lynn Sells is suspected of about 12 murders, although he has claimed responsibility for at least 50 and claims he killed using guns, knives, a bat, a shovel, and ice pick, and his bare hands, between 1980-1999. Sells stabbed one 13-year old girl 16 times. He slit the throat of a 10-year old girl who lived, and this led to his apprehension.

The mother of one of his victims sat in prison for years, accused of murdering her own 10-year old son, Joel, in 1997. People had reported to Sells to the police, saying that he had killed the boy after having his mother had reportedly treated Sells “rudely” at a convenience store earlier that night. It was not until 2002 that Sells revealed the truth to an author and the mother was ultimately acquitted (with the help of the Innocence Project).

He is presently on death row.
